Session Report: October 30, 2006
It was my second day out of the season, but it was the first day for most. Near perfect weather brought sailors from miles away to windsurf at Clinton Lake.

This was a bonus day, as I had already called it quits for the season. I couldn’t pass it up - warm weather and high winds. The wind was extraordinary. I sailed a 5.7 (hugely overpowered) for quite a while then I switched to a 5.0 (moderately overpowered). I think I broke the sound barrier up by the damn in the flat water. Without all the chop bouncing me around, I was able to hold the sail down firmly and continue to accelerate. Reid thinks I broke 35mph, and I think I did too. I need to start bringing my GPS for days like this. There was quite a crowd. It was nice to see some faces I haven’t seen in a while.

This was my last day of the season. The air temp was a chilling 41 degrees. I sailed with a 5.0 for a while and then rigged up a 5.7 to get powered up a little more. I was nice and warm in my cold weather gear.
