Session Report: April 1, 2007

I arrived at 11:15am and started to rig my 4.2, but it just wouldn't work with my 430. There wasn't enough strap to extend it out the top. I rigged the 5.0 instead and quickly returned to shore after trying it. There was no way I could sail with a 5.0. I had it downhauled to the max, and flattened out, but I was still getting lifted off the water. When Reid arrived, he let me borrow a 400cm mast, and I rigged the 4.2 on it. I wouldn't have been able to sail without his generosity. Thanks again man! I was still overpowered at times with the 4.2, but it was manageable. I got off the water around 2:45pm. The wind kicked up another notch and I couldn't sail the 4.2 any longer. Everyone else came in shortly after. It was a truly epic day.

UPDATE: My body still aches from Sunday's session. I think I may have suffered from a bit of whiplash. Here's what happened. I was heading back to shore on a port tack. A major gust lifts me out of the straps and throws me forward, only to land head first. The rest of my body continues its journey forward in an attempt to separate itself from my head. Fortunately, my head remained intact. The front half of my neck is now extremely sore from being overextended. I may be suffering from some mild brain damage as well, but everyone says they don't notice any difference
