Session Report: Sunday March 2, 2008
Sunday was a nice break from the cold, bitter winter weather. It was a sneak preview of the spring windsurfing season, at least for those willing to freeze their special parts as a sacrifice to the wind gods.
I enjoyed the day riding Jen's Quatro Freemove 120 with 46cm weed fin and 6.0 Ezzy Wave sail set with minimum outhaul and downhaul. There was just enough wind to make it work. I sailed for about 3 hours, trying to spend as little time as possible in the frigid water. The wind wasn't spectacular, but it wasn't a skunking either. It was a gentle break into the season. Tonight, as I was scraping the ice off my windshield in the dark parking lot at work, I wondered if it was just a dream. The sore muscles in my arms reminded me that it was in fact real.
