Notice of Race
 
1. Event
The CLSA Windsurf Regatta will be held Saturday May 3, 2008 at Clinton Lake in Central Illinois.

2. Organizer
The CLSA Windsurf Regatta is organized by Clinton Lake Sailing Association under US Sailing.
 
3. Rules
Refer to http://www.ussailing.org/rules/RulesInBrief.htm for standard racing rules. You’ll want to know the basics of right of way among sailors.
 
4. Classes, Divisions & Equipment
This race will be open class. There are no restrictions on sails or boards for this race.
 
5. Prizes
Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
 
6. Liability
Competitors take part in all races at their own risk. Clinton Lake Sailing Association, US Sailing or any of their officials or representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives are not responsible, under any circumstances, for any damage, loss or injury either ashore or on the water either to persons or equipment, which may result. Participation in this event, supporting events and in each race in them is at the sole discretion of the sailor and at his/her own risk. A signed waiver and release form is required for registration in this event. The waiver is at the end of this page for your review. The forms will be available at the event during registration.

9. Registration & Entries Fees for Competitors and Non-Competitors
     9.1 Competitors must check-in on site at the CLSA pavilion. The registration will be open for all racers until the beginning of the race meeting.
     9.2 Competitor Entry Fees
           Open Class, CLSA Member................ $ FREE
           Open Class , Non-Members:................ $ 15.00

Waiver and Release

Important Information

Please read this form carefully and be aware that in signing up and participating in CLSA sailing programs and activities, you will be expressly assuming the risk and legal liability and waiving and releasing all claims for injuries, damages or loss which you or your minor child or ward might sustain as a result of participation in any and all activities connected with and associated with CLSA sailing programs and activities.

CLSA is committed to conducting its programs and activities in safe manner and holds the safety of participants in high regard.  CLSA continually strives to reduce risks and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions that are designed to protect participants' safety.  However, participants and the parents or guardians of minors taking part in CLSA programs and activities must recognize that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in sailing activities and programs.

You are solely responsible for determining if you or your minor child or ward is physically fit and/or sufficiently skilled for the activities sponsored by CLSA.  It is always advisable, especially if the participant is pregnant, disabled in any way or recently suffered illness, injury or impairment, to consult a physician before participating in a sailing activity.

Warning of Risk

Sailing activities and programs are intended to challenge and engage the physical, mental, and emotional resources of each participant.  Despite careful and proper preparation, instruction, medical advice, conditioning and equipment, there is a still a risk of serious injury when participating in any sailing activity or program.  Understandably, not all hazards and dangers can be foreseen.  Depending on the particular activity, participants must understand that certain risks, dangers, and injuries due to inclement weather, slipping, falling, poor skill level or conditioning, carelessness, horseplay, unsportsmanlike like conduct, premises defects, defective equipment, inadequate supervision, instruction and all other circumstances inherent to sailing programs and activities exist.  In this regard, it must be recognized that it is impossible for CLSA to guarantee absolute safety.

Waiver and Release of All Claims and Assumption of Risk

I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to participants in CLSA sailing programs and activities, and I voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of any and all injuries, damages or loses, regardless of severity, that my minor child or ward or I may sustain as a result of CLSA sailing.  I further agree to waive and relinquish all claims against CLSA, including its officials, officers, employees, members, or volunteers I or my minor child or ward may have (or any that accrue to me or my child or ward) as a result of participating in CLSA sailing programs or activities.

I do hereby fully release and forever discharge CLSA from any and all claims for injuries, damages or loss that my minor child or ward or I may have or which may accrue to me or my minor child or ward arising out of, connected with, or in any way associated with CLSA sailing programs or activities.

I have read and understand the above important information, warning of risk, assumption of risk and waiver and release of all claims.
